I was born in San Francisco, and began playing congas at age 11. Thanks to the encouragement of my friend and next door neighbor, Karl Perazzo, I was able to land my first gig on locally produced nationally syndicated 'Just Kidding' on KRON-TV 4. As a teenager, I played congas in my father's cover-rock bands, performing in clubs around the Bay Area.
I furthered my music and recording education at City College of San Francisco & studied drums privately for several years. Equally comfortable playing jazz, punk, soft rock or free experimental improvisation, my drumming draws from a myriad of influences without genre boundaries. I am an active performer and improviser, working with Greenberg Artistic Performances, Charles Unger, Terese Taylor, Dylan Champagne, Ed Ivey & others.
"He possesses the technique, finesse, and discrimination to sound like Max Roach, Tony Williams, or Elvin Jones, as the occasion warrants."
